I'm tapering for the Moab 1/2, which is a good thing since I now have a head cold that may even keep me from doing the race this Sunday. Ran 4 miles at an unintentional very easy pace: 11:46. Ran in 47:04. I was pushing Jack in the jogger stroller, which definetely slowed me down. And the cold.

Any advice on what to do? Should I bag the 13 miles? I have a couple of days to get better, but I'm not sure how bad I can feel and still run a 1/2.

Heather, I think you'll feel a lot better by race day. Also, once you're at the starting line, you won't be thinking about a cold at all. The race will take care of itself. Just keep relaxing the next few days. I suppose I could tell you these things in person, since you're my wife :)

I ran SGM last year with a head cold and a pretty good sore throat only 5 days removed and I PR'd... Just remember you have put in all the training and you will not lose your fitness because of the cold. And as always take lots of Vitamin C!!

Hi Clay,

Thanks for the encouragement. I plan to run this weekend, though I doubt i'll get a PR!
