Ran from my house up 4th through some of Federal Heights and behind the Greek houses on the way to the U. Ran to 400 South and then home along 1200 E. Felt good and I pushed it up some of the hills in the Aves on the way home. My lungs were burning and it was short, but I did it.

Ran in 36:27, average pace of 10:25

Nice work, those hills at the end are tough.

What's your background in running? I am thinking you may be going to fast too soon after your baby but that's mostly because I could never run that fast or far when my baby was that little. Sounds like you are a pretty tough cookie..

Hi Sarah,

I've been running (I might say jogging) for a couple of years. Nothing serious. Run the Moab Half probably 3 times and the Chicago marathon a couple of years ago. I probably averaged a 9 minute mile.

Before I got pregnant I was running a couple of times a week and actually stepped it up at the beginning of my pregnancy. I ran 3x a week until I was 7 months pregnant and then stopped b/c of an injury but tried to keep active using an elliptical or going to swimming aerobics classes.

I think I may be pushing it a bit to be running this much. I planned to run 3x a week starting with 20 minutes a time and increaing by 10 percent a week. But I wanted to see if I could do the Other Half Marathon (and I want to lose the baby fat) so I've obviously increased my mileage. I am definetly sore, but less so each time and I feel fine after taking a day off in between runs.

We'll see if I can keep it up!
